Okay, a lot of you wanted to see the whole costume, so here's some shitty bathroom pics spliced together in a presentable way to show all the details and angles, etc. I'll upload artsy shots once I have the photoshoot with my talented friend Nicole.
Scar picture is now flipped to the right side, had a couple people ream me out on Tumblr for having it Ember Island style (in my defense, I'm doing the scar makeup again this weekend, and putting rigid collodion in the same area of your face twice in a couple days is bad). Yes, I know it needs to be ironed, it was 5 am, I didn't quite feel up to it lol.
Mask is made of Rigid Wrap, paperclay, and gesso and acrylic. Some of the process is covered here [link]
Kneepads and shoulder pads are made of darted Wonderflex, pleather, and brown leather. The outfit is made of cotton sateen (black), and hand-dyed twill (was originally a lighter gray, I gave it a quick black dye bath).
The makeup actually keeps the corner of my mouth open! It's a material called rigid collodion, and what it does is shrink and stretch your skin taut. If you grimace or hold a yelling face until it dries, it will dry with the corner of your mouth slightly open. Then it was attacked with latex and the bruise/wound color wheels from Ben Nye.
If you have questions about the cosplay, please check my Tumblr for Asks, a few I have answered cover construction: [link] If you still have questions, please note me. I do not do commissions.
Yes, there will be copies of my mask available through my friend this fall, he will be making a mold of my mask and casting it. I will update my DA journal with pricing and how to order once I get the info.
Anybody that actually bothers to read this long description, I'm sorry for how long it is!
I have a question, how many yards of fabric did you buy to make the costume(tunic/hood). I bought about 3 yards, and I'm not sure if thats too much, or too little :S
Three yards should just enough, though I don't know how tall you are. I'm actually a little wide (at the hips) so I went with 4 (to include the hood), but if you're careful, 3 should be fine!
i dont do cosplay yet but this looks AMAZING! I'm mega fan of ALOK so i credit you with an awesome job done. the face make up is perfect compared to the cartoon version

What if he waterproof make up on? What would have happened?I'll stop, I have so much rage about the finale that I won't stop when I start lol
